People today depend a lot on GPS navigators to guide them to their destinations. Hence the GPS manufacturers are manufacturing various navigators to help the people. Many companies are creating such devices out of which the most popular brands that are equally popular include Navman, Garmin and TomTom. These brands have different product ranges that are based on GPS navigation and provide great help to the people. The product examples of these three brands are as Navman S100T, Garmin Edge 705 (010-00555-31) and TomTom, Go 940 Live.

The Navman S100T has a 4.3 inch touchscreen display which includes SiRF Star III and SiRf InstantFix II type of chipsets. This device is suitable for motor vehicles and includes the TeleAtlas 2008 v2 navigation software. The navigator includes maps of Great Britain and Ireland and ranks quite well in a sat nav comparison. The Navman S100T features Point of Interest (POI), Traffic Message Channel, Intelligent Route Calculation and Voice guided navigation. It is compatible with MP3 players and also includes FM transmitter.

The Garmin Edge 705 (010-00555-31) has a 2.2 inch screen with a display resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. It is suitable for outdoors, sports and bicycle and uses the MapSource City Navigator Europe navigation software. The Garmin Edge 705 has dimensions of 51 x 109 x 25 mm and weighs just 105g. The devices stores data in micro SD cards and has a battery life of 15 hours. The Garmin Edge 705 features Point of Interest, Traffic Message Channel, Intelligent Route Calculation, Heart rate monitor and Cadence sensor.

The TomTom Go 940 Live has a 4.3 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 272 pixels. The TomTom Go 940 has dimensions of 127 x 85 x 23 mm and just weighs 224g. The TomTom sat nav features the same specifications as the Navman S100T and Garmin Edge 705, but it includes certain other features like Lightning Early Warning System, Street Name Announcement, Lane Assistant, Map Share, real-time HD Traffic Information, emergency help and online weather reports.
